Fourth week of June Holiday

This week, I had a very packed schedule. On Monday, I came back from Perth to Singapore. By the time I reached, it is already very late and when I reached home, it is already midnight. I had a very tiring day; However, I went to bed at a very late time. On Tuesday, I went to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority, in short, the ICA building to register for my identity card. However, I was quite lucky as when I was there, there are not many people that are registering their identity card. Previously, I was worried because whenever I go to the ICA building to register for my passport, the place is always very packed with people. Often, I have to wait for a very long time for my turn to come.

On Wednesday, I went back to school to return my report book to my form teacher. After that, I went out with one of my friend. We went to Toa Payoh to shop and maybe buy some things? But in the end, we did not buy anything as there was nothing that suits. However, I still had a fun time with her as we had not been going out for a very long time. On Thursday, I went back to school for our Chinese project. The Chinese project was entitled “DV Campus”. We had to film what our school is doing on Ideas Day. Basically, I have learnt more about Ideas Day as well, and I feel that through this “DV Campus” I have benefited as I now know what Ideas Day is all about and the good thing is that we can convey to others what is Ideas Day. Maybe this is what we always say: “one stone kill two birds”, as through a single project like “DV Campus” we can not only learn what Ideas Day is all about but also using different perspectives to look into a single event such as Ideas Day. Why do I say using different perspectives? It is because when we are interviewing both students and teachers, both have different views on Ideas Day. This helps us understand how both students and teachers feel when come to such events. However, Ideas Day is also a day whereby parents are also invited to share their thoughts and their concerns, which is a good way to interact as when both parties interacts and understand more, students can better understand their education.

Lastly, on Friday, I will be going back to school for my NPCC training and completing my mathematics project. Hopefully, I can finish it tomorrow! What a tiring but beneficial week!

Third week of June Holiday

I had fun this week. On Wednesday, I went to Lake Monger to see the black swans. The black swans are quite violent as when we go near them they will try to attack us. I think it is because they fear that we are going to catch them. Other than black swans, I saw some ducks as well. After the trip to Lake Monger, we went to Kings Park as well. Kings Park has very nice scenery; it has a glass bridge in there. When one stands on the glass bridge, one can see the scenery in just one single look. Other than seeing the scenery, we had a picnic. A picnic there is perfect for us to start our day. We had a fun time over there and I hope that I can go there one more time.

On Thursday night, I went to Southland one last time. In Australia, the shopping centres will be open on Thursday night till 9pm, but the thing is that it will only be open on Thursday night but not the other nights. Upon reaching Southland, I went to Crazy Clark’s to buy some snacks as on Friday, I will be going to Mandurah to catch crabs but the journey to Mandurah will be around an hour. Thus, snacks have to be provided for us? Anyway, I have to wake up early so that I will be able to catch more crabs! On Friday, I went to Mandurah to catch crab. The crabs there are quite big, but I can only manage to catch one of it. Maybe my luck was not there? However, my cousins caught more and thus, dinner will be crabs! I had a happy time eating the crabs as the crabs are not only big but juicy as well.

On Saturday, I went to Carousel. Carousel is a shopping centre; it is quite big as well but not as big as Garden City. However, it is still a nice place after all. Most of their shops are similar to Singapore’s. Thus, I did not really shop that much. On Sunday, which is today, I did not go out. I stayed at home the whole day. Reason being, I am going back to Singapore tomorrow. The same thing is going to happen every time, have to leave my uncle, aunty and cousins. No matter what, I have to leave. I just cannot bring the memories away but I want to have the type of fun again but not bring them back to Singapore. My mind is twirling right now; I hope I do not have to leave. Can’t I just stay for one more month?

Second Week of June Holidays

This week is quite fulfilling as well because I went to different shopping centres this week. Each shopping centre has its own features and entertainment. The first shopping centre for the week is Livingston, followed by Stockland. Both shopping centres are not as big as the third one we went to. The big shopping centre namely Garden City, it is a very big shopping centre, and it is full of entertainments. I feel that Garden City is quite similar to Singapore’s Orchard. Why do I say so? It is because Orchard has different entertainments and features as well. What is more is that it has also a lot of things in the shopping centre. Orchard is very big which is another similar point compared to Garden City.

Apart from shopping centres, I went to two different parks as well. On Wednesday, I went to the park to play football. The air in the park is very refreshing. The second park that I went to is Woodman Park. I went to that park for fishing, unfortunately, not much fishes were caught. However, I went to the park to play football as well. On Sunday, I went to Raeburn. Raeburn is a place where they plant different fruits. Raeburn is a very nice place as you can find different fruits such as apples, pears, persimmons and more. Raeburn sells fruits as well, although they sell fruits but they sell it at a very low price.

What I like about Australia is that the people here are very friendly, but not only the people but dogs as well. The dogs here are very cute and friendly, they allow you to feed them, touch them and also whatever you want to do to the dog except offending the dogs. The people here are friendly in the extent whereby they will approach you to feed their dogs. Why do I say this? It is because the situation is like what I had in the park. The lady approaches us simply because we kept on looking at her dog. It is so funny, and because we like dogs and so, when she approaches us and ask us whether we would like to feed her dog. We replied:” Yes!” straight away. I feel that every single one of us should be like the lady so that we can always live on happily without worries as when we are like the lady, we are as friendly as her and we are as open as her.

First Week of June Holiday

The first week of the June holiday has been exciting and I had a fulfilling time. On Tuesday, I have to go back to school for physics remedial and working for the maths project. On Wednesday, I went back to school for physics remedial and continuing my maths project. I had a fun time doing the maths project as I get to go around asking people to fill in the surveys as the surveys questions are very funny. The funniest thing will be when I saw the reactions of the people when they did the surveys. Anyway, I want to thank them for their time and the funniest thing, their expressions. After the math project, I went for my NPCC shooting competition, when I was in the home team academy, where we go to for shooting I was feeling pretty nervous. Eventually, all of the competitors were feeling nervous? However, due to our nervous, we did not clinch a very high position for the competition. After which, on Thursday, I took a midnight flight to Australia. When I was on the plane, I was too tired to speak. I slept through the whole flight. Then, when I am in Australia, my aunty and cousins came to pick all of us up. We had a fun time reuniting with one another. I thought to myself:”This is an annual experience, I will have to treasure every single moment with my relatives in Australia.”

On Saturday, we went to Southland to buy things. Southland is a shopping centre, it sells many things but mostly the things here are quite similar to Singapore. The only difference in both places is the duration of the shopping centres. In Australia, The operation hours are from 8am to 5pm unlike Singapore.

On Sunday, we woke up very early to go to their Sunday Market. We went to two different Sunday market, one is the Fremantle market and the other one is E-Shed. The things sell in the Sunday Markets are rather cheap but quite durable. Therefore, I bought quite a number of things from the Sunday Market. Another special thing about Australia is that on Sundays, they do not open any shopping centres. After the Sunday market, we went back home as it is my birthday. My birthday is the most fulfilling moment I have had because if we were in Singapore, there will not be so many people celebrating my birthday for me. I had a fun time in Australia, and I hope that I can stay here as my aunty, uncle and cousins are all in Australia. However, I wish to complete my education in Singapore first before immigrating to Australia.
